7 FOODS TO FIGHT BLOATED TUMMY
Did you know that leading a sedentary lifestyle can affect your digestion, leading to the feeling of bloatedness after every meal? Under TCM, the body is believed to be suffering from an excess of ‘yang’ energy, leading to an imbalance of the yin and yang.
What causes bloating?
According to TCM, there are 3 organs in the body that might be experiencing some issues that contribute to bloating – the stomach, spleen and liver.
The stomach and spleen primarily aid in the digestion of food, absorbing nutrients transporting them the different parts of the body. However, when these organs fail to digest the food in our body properly, this gives rise to qi stagnation. They will accumulate in the stomach, giving the feeling of a bloated stomach.
Another factor might be due to consuming too much cold foods, such as sashimi and cold beverages. When there is too much ‘yin’ energy, the stomach fails to digest foods properly, causing blood stagnation.
